Creative videography

I direct, film and edit videos creating and producing bespoke, custom video content. I start my end-to-end video production process with pre-production where I work on storyboards to refine the footage will need to be captured. Once the shoot planning process is completed filming takes place on-location or in studio. I work with voice-over artists and musicians to create original sound tracks, I also create my own sound tracks to accompany my video work.

Below are examples of my creative video projects which are part of on-going video projects, for these projects I create fine art videos based on poetry and dance themes.

Here is my video sequence adapting Robert Frost’s poem ‘Acquainted with the Night’ which was filmed on the Sussex coast. I worked with the voice-over artist Brian Hickey who recorded an excellent rendition of Frost’s poem. I directed the actor during the shoot and edited the video to match the Brian’s reading and phrasing of the poem.

Here is a fine art dance based video which I filmed as part of my ‘Alberic’s Scrapbook’ video project. This video concept is based on change and water and was filmed on the Sussex coast, I worked with professional dance artists who developed dance sequences based on a water theme. For this video I worked with the musician David Loach who recorded an original sound track based on my video edit.

This is the haunting sequence from ‘Alberic’s Scrapbook’ which features the actor Richard Hawley, this video was filmed in studio and on-location in a historic Sussex church. I created and edited the original sound track which adds atmosphere and context to this haunting video sequence.

My video adaption of Brian Patten’s ‘The Minister for Exams’ was filmed in the south coast Sussex suburbs. I worked with the voice-over artist Simon Beavis editing my video sequence to match Simon’s reading of Patten’s poem.
