Loopholes

WW2 hard defences in Sussex

Loopholes is a photographic project that captured changed landscape images of second world war hard defences that are know as ‘pillboxes’. These defencive structures were built in 1940-41 against a threat of invasion, although never used some still remain in the rural Sussex countryside.

Loopholes captures these historic structures known as ‘hard defences’ as they appear in their environment as a series of black and white images.
